Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Application Architecture Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Austin, TX. Transforming the future of technology… The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grummans State and Local Health and Human Services business unit. Roles and Responsibilities: * This position will be responsible for application architecture planning, configuration management planning, performance planning/assessment, and leading all aspects of software development, testing and implementation. * Must be capable of proposing solutions to support short and long range planning, and transition for the Texas Child Support Enforcement enterprise architecture. * Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and architecture design of legacy systems (Software/AGs Adabase/Natural) transformation to distributed, web based, and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based applications. * Provides security architecture direction and oversight, including industry best practices and generally accepted information security principles (i.e., defense in depth, protection of the weakest link, etc.). Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: * BS Degree in Computer Science or a related field * 10+ years IT experience. * Minimum 5 years experience as a Software Development Lead. * Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to lead a technical team of at least 25 people. * Proven history of successfully leading both Java and .Net based software development and a thorough understanding of current SDLC methodologies, tools and associated infrastructure requirements. Collaborates with project team leads, project management and the client in the selection, recommendation & approvals of tools & technologies to improve efficiencies, and reduce costs. Conducts presentations to educate or obtain approvals on design recommendations. Monitors team performance against planned milestones and provides regular team status reports. Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: * Experience with IBMs Rational suite of application development products, IBMs Websphere, Lotus Portal is highly desired. This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and/or customer approval.
